Pete
Brucher began his career in the wine industry thirty years ago, first
as grower of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and secondly, in
1978, as founder and managing general partner of Vichon Winery in Oakville
area of Napa Valley.
Successfully
launching Vichon's first vintage in 1980, designing and building a state-of-the-art
winery and developing a creative national marketing program, Pete earned
the reputation for being an innovative wine producer with a commitment
to quality.
Pete
sold the Vichon Winery and Vineyard in 1989 to the Mondavi family. After
discovering the Central Coast, he decided to move his winery to Santa
Maria at the northern end of Santa Barbara County.
Turning
his attention to the design and development of the Brucher Winery, he
used his knowledge and experience as a grape grower to select Pinot Noir
and Chardonnay grapes from the finest vineyards in the area. Recently
he has discovered excellent Bordeaux red grapes and is releasing his first
Cabernet Franc.
The
goal of Brucher Winery is to produce distinctive wines with style and
grace.
